Outdoor Recreation oversees Outdoor Adventure Programs, BellaMorphosis, Auto Hobby Shop, FAMCAMP, RV Storage, Equipment Rental, ITT, Vehicle Resale Lot, Log Cabin, Trap & Skeet Range, Archery Range, Splash Pad, and Olympic Pool, while also offering many special events throughout the year. Outdoor Rec On-Demand outings can be tailored to your organization or personal outings year-round.
Outdoor Rec On-Demand
Outdoor Recreation has changed the way we offer most outdoor activities and trips. Customer groups can choose an offered activity and desired date, and Outdoor Recreation Programmers will verify availability, then plan and carry out the requested activity. A lead time of 14 days is standard for most activities to allow staff scheduling and planning. The Seymour Johnson AFB FamCamp is surrounded by heavily forested areas and tucked far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the base to ensure quiet relaxation, but close enough that several key support facilities and parks are within easy walking distance. Open year-round, the facility features 16 concrete parking pads, gravel overflow area, dump station, bathhouse, laundry, picnic tables, grills, handicapped accessibility and area lighting.
How to get here
From U.S. 70, East or West, take U.S. 117 South to Arrington Bridge Road turn left onto it. Go to Westbrook and turn left onto it. Go to Slocumb Street and turn right onto it. Slocumb Street will take you straight to the back gate. You must use the back gate for security purposes – USMRA page 45 (K,L-3). The nearest major city to the area is Raleigh, N.C.
Use of the FamCamp is limited to: Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, Retired Military, DoD Civilian, Retired DoD Civilian, Dependents, and 100% DAV.

No advance reservations. Check in and check out is is managed by Outdoor Recreation located at 1515 Goodson Street, 919-722-1104/7437.
Daily FamCamp use rate is $20 peak season (March-October), $16 Non-Peak (November-February).

Support Facilities and Activities
The 4th Force Support Squadron of Seymour Johnson AFB offers a full range of quality recreational services to all authorized patrons. Additionally, the FamCamp is within blocks of the Medical Clinic, Exchange, and Commissary.
$17 per month if you reside on base
$27 per month if you reside off base
A multipurpose recreational facility, available for hosting special events.
• The rental fee is $60 per day with a cleaning deposit of $50.
Skeet + Archery
Three skeet fields are available for those wishing to improve their hunting skills or demonstrate their shooting ability.
• Skeet is $5 per round (one round equals 25 clay targets).
Our archery range is available for use free of charge and is operated as a self-help project. You may use the range at any time provided you follow all safety guidelines.
