Family First Fitness – Monthly Family Challenge
The following are monthly FAMILY challenges that are meant to be fun for all involved. Parents and guardians, get your kids involved and have a blast at Family First Fitness.
Sign up at the front desk, and check-in with staff monthly to have your progress logged.
January — Jumping Jacks
Jan 4-29: Complete a total of 500 jumping jacks as a family.
February — Sit-ups
Feb 1-26: Complete a total of 300 sit-ups as a family.
March — Pushups
March 1-30: Complete a total of 250 pushups as a family.
April — Burpees
April 1-29: Complete a total of 300 burpees as a family.
May — Run/Walk
May 3-29: Reach a total of 50 miles together as a family.
June — Cycling
June 1-29: Reach a total of 100 miles together as a family; riding bikes together outside, or ages 16 and up, the challenge may be completed at Family First Fitness when indoor cycles are available.
July — Hop Scotch
July 1-30: Try challenging your children to a game of Hop Scotch. Keep track of your time to reach 10 total hours of physical activity.
August — Hula Hoop
Aug 2-30: Record a total of 60 minutes of hula hooping throughout the month as a family,
September — Jump Rope
Sept 1-30: Record 500 minutes of jump roping for the month
October — Air Squat
Oct 1-29: Record 500 air squats as a family; back straight, knees have to reach 90 degrees to count. This objective can be done anywhere.
November — Walking Lunges
Nov 1-29: Reach 500 walking lunges, 250 each leg. Legs will mke a 90-degree angle; do not break, knee should be aligned with toe, not extend over. These can be done anywhere.
December — Step Up
Dec 1-30: Record 1,000 step ups. Your choice of height of step up; can be performed anywhere. You can use steps at home, curb on the side of the road, both 3F and the main fitness center.
