The Civilian Personnel Section (CPS) provides Human Resources (HR) service to civilian employees at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and Pope Army Air Field, North Carolina. We provide employment opportunities for federal employees with current career or career-conditional status and individuals with no prior federal service experience.

Our offices provide hands-on internal and external customer service, assisting managers and supervisors in establishing and filling new positions, in-processing and out-processing employees, leave issues, performance awards, priority placement program registration, disciplinary actions, and a full range of employee and labor-management related issues.

All position classification, recruitment, on-the-job injury, reduction in force, and retirement/insurance services are provided by the Air Force Personnel Center, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph in Texas, 1-800-525-0102.

Civil Service job announcements are handled by the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) at Randolph AFB/JBL. Those announcements can be found at usajobs.gov. Many of the announcements are to establish an open register (applicant file); the positions may not be vacant at that time.

Military spouses on Leave-Without-Pay (LWOP) from Civil Service positions should contact us to schedule an appointment to register in the Priority Placement Program (PPP). Required documents for this appointment include a copy of the spouse’s orders assigning them to Seymour Johnson AFB or Pope AAF; a current resume; a SF50 (Notification of Personnel Action) reflecting the LWOP status; and a copy of the latest appraisal, if available.
