Get set for a three-mile boat ride offshore to Shackleford Banks, the southern-most barrier island in the Cape Lookout National Seashore - home to more than 100 wild horses! Enjoy horse watching, shellings, birding, strolling the sandy beaches, and checking out the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. After the adventure, we will stop for lunch in downtown Beaufort before returning to the base.

*What is R4R and are you R4R eligible? R4R stands for Recharge for Resiliency and includes programs created to provide support for specific groups to build resiliency. You qualify for FREE or REDUCED FEE R4R events & trips if you are:

• Single Airmen (SAI)
  • Programs are open to single (unmarried) Air Force Active Duty members and one guest
• Rec-On (RECON)
  • Programs are open to Air Force Active Duty, Reservists, and their immediate family members
• Deployed Affected (DAP)
  • Programs are open to Air Force Active Duty member and their immediate family members who are 4 months prior to deployment and up to 1 year following a deployment
  • Programs are open to spouses of Air Force Active Duty members and one guest while the member is deployed
  • Deployment orders are required
